Short CV of Carlo Duso
Carlo Duso is professor of "Environmental Entomology" and of "Plant protection in viticulture" for bachelor and master students of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University of Padua, Italy. He is employed at the Department of Environmental Agronomy and Crop Science, University of Padua. He has been supervisor of more than 50 phD, master or bachelor thesis for the University of Padua and reviewer of 4 phD thesis for the ENSAM-SUPAGRO, Montpellier (France). He has been involved in research projects dealing with: a) biological and integrated control of phytophagous insects and mites in vineyards, fruit orchards and protected crops; b) biology and ecology of predatory mites (Phytoseiidae); c) effects of pesticides on plant mites; d) landscape ecology with emphasis on predatory mites. On these topics he published more than 130 papers on International and National Journals, International and National Congress Proceedings, and books. He acted as reviewer for 15 International Journals, for the Proceedings of International Congresses of Entomology and Acarology, the CABI International, National and International research projects. He has been Consultant and adviser of Environment Italian Minister in the field of ecotoxicology from 1996 to 2000.
He has joined IOBC-WPRS in 1983 (WG "Integrated Protection in Viticulture") and since then he participated to the meetings of three additional WG: "Pesticides and Beneficial Organisms", "Functional biodiversity", "Integrated management of plant feeding".
