Short CV of Mauro Jermini

Dr. Mauro Jermini received the diploma in engineer in Agronomy from ETZ Zurich in 1984. From 1987 to 2005, he was researcher at the Research station Agroscope Changins-Wädenswil (ACW), research center of Cadenazzo (www.agroscope.ch) as project leader for plant protection in viticulture and horticulture and he is actually the leader of the research group "Plant protection South of the Alps" as well as responsible of the ACW research center of Cadenazzo. His research interests are focused on viticulture and horticulture. In viticulture, his researches activities concerning grapevine responses to stress caused by diseases and pests for the development of integrated pest management strategies, the flavescence dorée disease and particularly the development of an adaptive management strategy for the vector control. In horticulture, his interest is focused on the application techniques with the aim to improve the quality of the treatment and on the development of integrated control strategy of diseases. He was involved in different national and international projects on the downy mildew of grapevine and flavescence dorée.

He first joined IOBC-WPRS working group "Integrated Protection and Production in Viticulture" in 1989 at Sion and has been actively implicated in the group since. He was the local organizer for the meeting of the group held in Ascona (Ticino/Switzerland) on 13-17 October 2013.
