Careful site selection (e.g. wind exposure is desirable, avoidance of shelter effects of hedges and forests).

High structure infrastructures (hedges, trees etc.) should be avoided in the vicinity (as they favour populations of carrot fly, P. rosae). Avoid salix (host of Cavariella aegopodii). In case of presence of CeMV the elimination of wild Apiaceae is necessary.

Avoid proximity to compost heaps, stables for horses (storage of crop / crop residues).

Avoid vicinity to flower strips sown with Apiaceae.
