The healthy pruning material can be mechanically destroyed to be used as fertilizer. In this case, simultaneous distribution of other organic fertilizers, like compost or green mulching, is suggested to improve humification processes. However, pruning material should be removed from the orchard if heavily infested by pests (i.e. fungi and bacterial diseases).
