Pests

Cabbage root fly:
Use of physical crop covers (nets) is recommended in small scale production and where other control methods are ineffective.
Seed coating and pre-planting module drench treatment is the preferred measure – where available. Limited effect however when several pest generations / year.

Flea Beetles: Use of physical crop covers (nets) is recommended in small scale production.

Nematodes: Adequate crop rotation or catch crops.

Diseases

Ring spot (Mycosphaerella): Seeds should be tested for sanitary aspects and disinfected.

Bacterial diseases ( e.g. Pseudomonas): disinfection by aerated steam treatment.
