Begoña I. ANTÓN-DOMÍNGUEZ is currently an Assistant Researcher at the Centro de Investigação de Montanha (CIMO), Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal). She received her B.S. in Agricultural Engineering (2017), a double M.S. in Agricultural Engineering and in Plant Production, Protection and Breeding (2019), and a Ph.D. in Agricultural, Food, Forestry and Sustainable Rural Development Engineering (2024). Her thesis focused on bioprotection and genetic resistance against Verticillium wilt in olive and pistachio. Her research integrates fundamental and applied approaches to the etiology, epidemiology, and integrated management of diseases in Mediterranean woody crops, including olive, pistachio, almond, and walnut. She works on the bioprospecting of bioprotection strategies, including biological control agents, plant extracts, and other natural compounds, as well as in determining their mode of action. She has authored several JCR scientific papers, and has participated in national and international congresses and as researcher in the work team of research projects.
She presented her work (oral and poster communications) at the IOBC-WPRS Working Group “Integrated Protection of Olive Crops” in Baeza, Spain, in 2024.
