Elisabete Figueiredo is an Assistant Professor at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, Universidade de Lisboa, where she teaches courses in applied entomology, zoology, and integrated pest management. Her main research interests are the biological and integrated control of pests in vegetable crops, particularly protected crops and berries, as well as pollination. Specifically, she has worked on biological control agents (baculovirus, parasitoids and predators), the impact of cropping practices on biological control, biotechnical control, and on developing protection strategies for integrated and organic vegetable production. She has coordinated and participated in several national and international research projects and has published around 35 ISI-indexed papers, as well as several technical papers. She has also participated in numerous national and international scientific meetings.

She has participated in the IOBC-WPRS Working Group ‘Integrated Control in Protected Crops, Mediterranean Climate’ since 1995. She was involved in organizing the meetings in Lisbon (1994) and Oeiras (2018). She has also been involved with other IOBC-WPRS working groups, such as the ‘Insect Pathogens and Insect Parasitic Nematodes’ group.
In 2025, she was elected as convenor of the WG ‘Integrated Control in Protected Crops, Mediterranean Climate’.
