Paula Baptista is Professor at School of Agriculture, Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal). She received her B.S. in Agriculture Engineering (1996), M.S. in Quality Control -specialization in Environment (2000), and Ph.D. in Science (2007). Her main interests are focused on biological and integrated control of pests and diseases in Mediterranean crop fruit trees, including olive. Specifically, she works on the bio-prospection of biological control agents (entomopathogens and microbial antagonist) against pests and diseases in olive ecosystem, on biotic interactions, as well as on the effects of cropping practices on biological control agents. Within these issues, she has coordinated and participated in several national and international research projects, has published more than 80 ISI indexed papers and has participated in numerous national and international congresses.

She has participated in the IOBC-WPRS WG: “Integrated Control of Olive Crops” since 2014, and became its convenor in 2018. In 2021 she was elected as IOBC-WPRS General Sectretary.
