Murillo obtained the pHD in Agricultural Engineering in 1997 and currently is an associate professor in Entomology and Biological Pest Control at the Navarre Public University (Pamplona, Spain). Member of the Research Group of Microbial Biopesticides since 1998, her research work is centered around various aspects of the ecology and biology of baculoviruses for their application in Integrated Pest Management Program. In 2008, during her postdoctoral fellowship, she joined the research team led by Dr. Bob Possee at the NERC Institute of Virology in Oxford (UK). There, she started working on covert infections caused by baculoviruses, focusing on their role in disease transmission and the development of inoculative strategies of Baculovirus-based pesticides.
