Sophie Le Hesran is currently working as an applied entomologist at the BU Greenhouse Horticulture of Wageningen University & Research in The Netherlands. She recently (March 2020) obtained her PhD degree from Wageningen University. She carried out her PhD at Koppert Biological Systems (The Netherlands), where she studied the effects of drought on the predatory mite Phytoseiulus persimilis, and its efficacy as a biological control agent of the spider mite Tetranychus urticae.
She participated in the IOBC-WPRS Working Group “Integrated Control of Plant-Feeding Mites” in Vienna in September 2019, where she received 2 prizes for best student oral presentation and best abstract. In 2021 she was elected as IOBC-WPRS Council Member.
