Abstract: During the last decade, growing Cannabis sativa L. in greenhouses has gained
importance in Switzerland. Because of its status of new crop, there is absence of registered
pesticides or biopesticides at the moment. Therefore, IPM strategies are limited to the strict use of beneficial organisms. Main pests encountered are mites, leaf miners, thrips, aphids and sciarids. Control of diseases as powdery mildew and grey mold are also challenging most
growers. In our overview, the actual successes, and gaps in the key pest management strategies in cannabis are discussed.
