Abstract: Temperatures and water stress are generally considered the most detrimentalfactors for survival and effectiveness of microbial biocontrol agents. The role played bythese environmental factors on the biocontrol activity of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens S499has been investigated in this work. On this purpose, the effect of temperature on growth, surfactin production and the ability to induce systemic resistance in plants have beenevaluated in vitro and in vivo.
