Effect of tomato plant-derived food sources on Dolichogenidea gelechiidivoris, parasitoid of Tuta absoluta

Abstract: Tuta absoluta threatens tomato crops worldwide. The present study aims to elucidate if specific tomato plant-derived food sources, such as guttation and honeydew from two phloem feeders affect the biological parameters of the parasitic wasp Dolichogenidea gelechiidivoris. Our findings reveal that guttation was an inadequate food source for D. gelechiidivoris, unlike the two honeydews, which provided a nutrient-rich diet for this parasitoid species.
