Abstract: Electrical penetration graph (EPG) recordings of pea aphid feeding on tic bean plants showed that β-aminobutyric (BABA), applied as a root drench, had no detectable impact on insect stylet activities. When BABA treatment was combined with prior aphid infestation, phloem sap ingestion by EPG-recorded aphids was significantly reduced.
