Euseius gallicus: evidence of thrips egg predation by a phytoseiid predator

 0.00

Abstract: Phytoseiids are well-known predators of larvae of several thrips species. Whether phytoseiids can also feed on thrips eggs is less clear. In the present laboratory study, we demonstrate that the thrips predators Euseius gallicus (Kreiter-Tixier) and Amblydromalus limonicus (Garman & McGregor) are able to locate and kill thrips eggs. It remains to be investigated whether other phytoseiids show the same behavior.Abstract only
