Increasing resistance of Arabidopsis thaliana towards aphids

Abstract: We have developed a high-throughput phenotyping system, in which a circulative virus (TuYV) serves as an indicator for M. persicae resistance. The aphid-virus system may be developed for other insect-virus combinations as well. Characterization of the mutants with increased resistance towards aphids led to the identification of novel genes involved in the mechanism.
