Insecticidal potential of Rosmarinus officinalis essential oil against Cryptolestes ferrugineus and its impact on sensory parameters of semolina

Abstract: This study explores the fumigant toxicity of Rosmarinus officinalis essential oil
against Cryptolestes ferrugineus. This essential oil exhibited high toxicity against C.
ferrugineus with LC50 = 159,72 µl/ l air. After 30 and 60 days of exposure to the essential oil
mortality of C. ferrugineus adults was 47.2 % and 21.3 %, respectively. This method could be
considered an alternative method to control insect pests of stored products.
