Localization of GFP-tagged Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. savastanoi strainsin olive knots
Abstract: We report the construction of Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. savastanoi strains taggedwith either a mini-Tn5-GFP or a mini-Tn7-GFP transposon and evaluate their use for real-timemonitoring of bacterial disease development on in vitro olive plants. Pathogenicity of P. savastonistrains LRM1-165 (NCPPB 3335 containing a mini-Tn7-GFP) and IPM-71 (ITM317 tagged with aomini-Tn5-GFP transposon) was not affected by GFP expression and allowed localization ofP. savastanoi cells during infection of in vitro olive plants.
