Abstract: Tortricid moths are significant pests in fruit production. This ongoing study,
conducted in 16 apple orchards in Norway, aims to understand the role of predators in
controlling tortricids and how they are affected by semi-natural habitats. Preliminary results
from 2024 indicate 30 % average insect damage on apple fruitlets, reducing to 14 % by harvest. The study has recorded 79 different wild plant species in and bordering apple orchards in Southeastern Norway, as well as 60 species of ground beetles. Data collection, including molecular analysis of predator diet, proceeds in 2025.
