Registration of plant protection products containing micro-organisms in the EU –changes through the new Regulation 1107/2009

Abstract: The legal framework and data requirements for the registration of biological plantprotection products in the EU are regulated in Council Directive 91/414. By June 14, 2011 theRegulation 1107/2009 will apply. The current situation will be presented with an interpretation ofthe data requirements and experiences from the regulatory procedure in the EU and different EUmember states. An overview about changes imposed by Regulation (EC) 1107/2009 will be givenwith regard to consequences for producers of biological plant protection products.
