Abstract: First reports of Thrips parvispinus in Dutch ornamental greenhouses date from July 2019. The species was found on Ficus benjamina in glasshouse floriculture. Since then, this thrips has persisted, and is becoming an increasing problem in potted plants like Anthurium, Ficus, Hoya, Mandevilla, Spathiphyllum, and Schefflera. This study gives an overview of the actual knowledge on the pest and summarizes recent field experiences with T. parvispinus performed in the Netherlands.
