Abstract: Failure in codling moth populations control with CpGV in apple orchards has beenattributed to the action of a single allele located in the Z chromosome. However, differences inthe mortality patterns between genetically homogeneous susceptible and resistant insects in thelaboratory strongly suggest that other mechanisms are responsible of variation in thesusceptibility of insect to CpGV isolates.
