Cultivars and rootstocks tolerant to fungal diseases and/or pests and resistant to viruses, phytoplasms, bacteria and nematodes and also tolerant to adverse climatic conditions (i.e. frost) are preferred.

The planting of well adapted cultivars/rootstock to local conditions is preferred.
