Nitrogen should not be applied before 15th February in order to avoid leaching.

Exception: Where climatic conditions require/allow earlier Nitrogen applications (e.g. parts of the Mediterranean), these must match plant up-take. In this case only slow release fertilisers to a maximum of 50 kg/ha N are permitted.

All Nitrogen applications must be split and adjusted according to crop needs.
