Can spontaneous ground cover vegetation influence olive anthracnose disease incidence?

Abstract: A floristic survey was carried out in 3 olive orchards in Portugal to study the potential role played by the most abundant spontaneous plant species in olive groves, as suppressive or conducive to olive anthracnose. Differential responses were found for seven species belonging to different families. The results suggest that vegetation management may be important in reducing anthracnose.
