Abstract: Species of the family Phytoseiidae (Acari: Mesostigmata) are unique groups of
predators in terms of their frequent exploitation of the foliage habitats of higher plants. Several phytoseiids are commercially available and are being used as biological control agents in a wide range of crops. However, the determination of native populations is of great importance. This study provides five new records of phytoseiid mites; Amblyseius herbicolus, Neoseiulus reductus, Kampimodromus corylosus, Paraseiulus triporus and Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) rhenanoides for the Belgian fauna. Additional morphological information and new illustrations for the new records as well as an identification key for the Belgian species of Phytoseiidae are presented.
