 5.00

Abstract: In Tunisia, management actions in cork oak forests used to be exclusively fulfilled
by Forest Administration (FA). The study aims, for the first time in Tunisia, to assess the
consequences of involving local population in rehabilitation operation. After 2 years, with
active contribution of communities, the results showed better survival rates of cork oaks,
estimated up to 60 %, compared to similar plantations fulfilled before.
