S5-3: Innovative biocontrol measures against Plasmodiophora brassicae Wor.

Abstract: Although it is known that Plasmodiophora brassicae spores germinate to release
zoospores that infect the roots, the mechanism that triggers germination of spores is still
unknown. This proposed research will investigate the factors affecting germination of spores to better understand the mechanisms to devise appropriate control measures. Additionally, this proposed research will also test combinations of different biocontrol agents against P. brassicae resting spores and test their effectiveness in controlling the disease.
