Status of biological control of aphids in Canada: Successes and current challenges

 0.00

Abstract: Although most Canadian growers have adopted biological control as their primary
method of pest management in greenhouse crops, aphid pests remain the barrier to 100 percent biocontrol. Larger aphid species (foxglove aphid, potato aphid) are the main challenges, but biocontrol of green peach aphid has not yet proven reliable enough to entirely replace the use of pesticides for many growers. In Canada, new biocontrol agents are being explored that provide more reliable and comprehensive aphid biocontrol programs.
