Pests
Onion fly: No soil treatments with insecticides must be applied in the field.
Thrips: Resistance management by appropriate rotation of active ingredients must be established.
Nematodes: Use only certified bulbs (nematode and virus free) in garlic and shallot production.
Diseases
Infected planting material should be destroyed: Peronospora, Sclerotium, Fusarium.
