Plant BioProTech & IOBC-IR

The Plant BioProTech and the IOBC-WPRS Working Group “Induced Resistance in Plants Against Insects and Diseases” (IOBC-IR) are joining forces to build an exceptional symposium next June 17-20th, 2024 in Castellon de la Plana, Spain.

The joint symposium will gather expert from both scientific and industry sector to exchange and build collaboration in the sector of agriculture and in particular, in the development, formulation and distribution of bioproducts (e.g.: elicitors, biocontrol agents, biostimulants). The new edition of the events represents an ideal moment, for researchers and industrials, to meet, discuss and share their latest results, developments and innovations and build tomorrow’s partnerships.

About the Plant BioProTech

The plant BioProTech is a leading European symposium founded by the Induced Resistance & Plant Bioprotection lab form the University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes and coorganised with Bioeconomy For Change, the French Bioeconomy cluster. The symposium focuses on scientific, technical and political aspects related to the plant bioprotection, bringing impacts on the scientific community, and the industry sector, in particular firms involved in the development, formulation and distribution of bioproducts. It allows researchers and industrials experts in biocontrol to meet, discuss and share their latest results, developments and innovations in the field.
The last edition gathered more than 260 participants and 90 speakers from all over the world.

About the IOBC-WPRS WG “Induced Resistance in Plants Against Insects and Diseases” (IOBC-IR)

IOBC-IR is a working group with experts fostering collaboration between scientists interested in problems linked with induced resistance (IR) and induced tolerance (IT), against diseases and insects in within members of WPRS. The aim is to share experience and eventually facilities, with special emphasis on joint or complementary programmes of work, increasing the general knowledge in the domain and offering this knowledge to the whole scientific community.
The last edition gathered more than 115 participants.

Topics particularly targeted:

  • Plant response to biotic or abiotic stresses
  • Beneficial microorganisms & plant growth promotion
  • Elicitors & plant innate immunity
  • Microbial sensing & induced resistance
  • Biocontrol & climate change
  • Synthetic biology
